The ones who care beyond compare.

Spanning multiple cultures, generations, educational backgrounds and areas of medical expertise, our multilingual team delivers care that’s as human as care gets.

Eli Weiss

Born and raised just a few short blocks from the facility, Eli is a natural fit at Far Rockaway Center. “I grew up in Far Rockaway and must have passed the facility hundreds of times, not really knowing what it was. But now, the facility means so much more to me; it is a destination.” The small, close-knit environment at Far Rockaway Center allows Eli to get to really know each and every resident by more than just their name. Prior to entering the health care circuit, Eli worked at a local community resource center and currently volunteers for the largest volunteer ambulance service in the country, so it is no surprise that customer service and advocacy come naturally. The success and positive outcomes experienced by our residents would not be possible says Eli, “without our incredibly dedicated and hardworking team, who can never be shown enough appreciation.”

Juliana Ninvalle RN

Director of Nursing

With more than 30 years of nursing experience, you can be sure than Juliana has seen every medical condition you might find in a skilled nursing community like ours. But her love for the profession began even earlier, when she was nicknamed “Nursie” by her siblings as they were growing up, which was a reference to her fondness for playing nurse; and using them as the patients, of course. Juliana moved to Brooklyn from her native Guyana in 1999 and fell in love with long term care. “One of my inspirations is Florence Nightingale, and I keep her quote on my desk as a constant reminder; ‘The goal of nursing is to put the patient in the best condition for nature to act upon him.’ That’s exactly what we do here. Whether someone has moved in with us or they are staying for a short rehabilitation, we keep them in the best condition for nature to act upon them and they can lead a happy and healthy life.” Who could ask for more?

Sukaina “Suky” Denis

Director of Rehabilitation

It’s easy to tell what makes Suky such a great leader in the rehab suite; it’s everything about her. Her enthusiasm, her energy, her positive attitude, her playfulness, her dedication, and most of all her ability to create great outcomes. And it all comes together to make one terrific leader. “My true passion is helping people recover from an injury or surgery or some other medical issue. In therapy, we see the transformation of the whole person as they recover; their body, mind and especially their spirit. There’s no other feeling like seeing someone really smile for the first time because they can see and feel their own recovery. And then seeing them go home is the icing on the cake.” Makes you want to have Suky overseeing your rehab, doesn’t it?
